My favorite long distance hike in France - EUMA in the jury
On request of the FFRANDONNÉE (French hiking organization), the EUMA was invited to be part of the jury which decided on which GR (long distance hiking routes/Grande Randonnée) in France will be the most favorite this year. It was an honor for the EUMA to be invited and become a connoisseur of French long-distance hikes. Together with our project partner we made our best choices and were glad that our favorite, was also the jury’s overall favorite.
The purpose of this contest was to make the GR in France and in Europe more visible and give special attention to the secret spots you can explore through these hikes. Prior to a public vote, open from October 28th to November 17th, the Jury voted its most favorite GR which weighted 20 % for the final voting’s.

Aïda Touihri - Journalist and explorer
The last season crowned the GR de Pays du Grand Pic St Loup in the Hérault and mobilized more than 100 000 votes in France.

2 - GR® 2 - Along the Seine. Gold Coast
3 - GR® de Pays Tour du Massif du Ventoux. Vaucluse
4 - GR® 55 - The Glaciers of the Vanoise. Savoie
5 - GR® 22 - Paris - Mont Saint-Michel. Orne
6 - GR® 340 - Tour of Belle-Ile-en-Mer. Morbihan
7 - GR® Bordeaux Métropole. Gironde
8 - GR® 107 - Le chemin des Bonshommes. Ariège
It was a pleasure that the jury’s favorite become also the favorite of the public and the GR® 340 made the race for this year.
